Our mission: To make disciples of Jesus Christ.

Winter 2011-2012 Adult Sunday School Opportunities

9:45-10:45 Sunday Mornings

Growing Disciples

This class is intended to help each person grow deeper in faith through study, prayer, discussion and action. For the 2011 – 2012 year, we will follow a systematic Bible study using the outline provided by “Disciple II: Into the Word, Into the World.” This study covers Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts.

With this curriculum as the outline, we will spend three weeks on each chapter of the study guide: reading the Bible during the week, praying on a passage the first Sunday using the lectio divina format; and discussing the reading on the second and third Sundays. A fourth Sunday in each cycle will be spent in a deeper “touch-in” when members share life issues in order to support one another in our faith journeys.

Grounding ourselves in Bible study and working with the topics brought up by the text will challenge us, feed our souls, spur us to action and build community. We will share leadership among all the class members. Although this is a continuation of last year’s class, new members are welcome at any time.
Coordinators: Walter Hylton, Susan Riggs & Chapman Taylor. Room 12

Faith Café

The Faith Café meets each Sunday in the Wesley Room, adjacent to the sanctuary. Facilitated by Pastor Dave, this class studies various books, be they of the Bible, bestsellers, or spiritual reflections. This is a drop in- drop off class. Each class is independent on its own.

Pairs & Spares

This quarter we will recall God's promise to Abraham that through him all the nations of the earth would be blessed. We will study how that promise was passed from generation to generation until it was fulfilled in Christ. We will use selected scriptures from Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Galatians and the ADULT BIBLE STUDIES material as a guide. You are invited to join us in room 11 where you will find good fellowship, comfortable chairs and lively discussion each Sunday.
Teacher: Audrey Fawcett. Room 11

Faith Fellowship

For the Advent season, the Faith Fellowship class will be using a study by Alex Joyner titled, "Call Him God's Son." The study is based on the Bible readings used for Advent and Christmas and focuses on the creative tension of living in a world caught between what is and what is promised to be. All are welcome. Join us for coffee, tea and spirited discussion.
